The Albatross and The Seagull
Albatross is the worlds largest sea bird and generally spends 85% of their life at sea. There could be up to 24 species and in New Zealand 14 of these species have been seen. The Seagull is often used to describe any loud, gray and white bird found near the sea; however, at least 28 different subspecies of seagulls are found throughout the world. Known to birding enthusiasts as gulls, there is more to these seabirds than scavenging and making noise, as their perpetuating stereotype suggests. NZ have Southern Black-backed Gull, Red & Black-billed Gull. |
